Kathy Ward

It is an honor to serve as your Collin County Commissioner for Precinct 4, please let me highlight a few things I've been able to do in the short 18 months I have been in office as I ask you for your vote and your help in the Republican Primary on March 2nd.
  • Voted to lower your property taxes while balancing your county budget and paying down future financial obligations for the county.

  • Successfully fought legislation in Austin that could have forced a tax on you here in Collin County for Parkland Hospital in Dallas County along with taking on some of their debt - it was a classic case of annexation for the purpose of taxation without representation.

  • Created the Collin County Citizens Academy in order to take transparent and open government to the next level and show you, the taxpayer, how your county government functions and where your tax dollars are spent. (NOTE - next academy is spring of 2010)

Right now some elected officials seem to feel they can do with our lives whatever they feel like doing. I'm not sure where these politicians justify their whims but it sure isn't anywhere in the Constitution I carry. For almost 2 decades I've worked tirelessly for the Republican Party, mostly as a volunteer - including serving as your Collin County GOP Chairman - and now as an elected official, to see that conservative values and principles are upheld and that government knows it's' proper role in our lives and functions within those limits. I am asking for your vote to help me continue to represent you on your Commissioners Court.

It would mean a great deal to me if I can count on your support to get out the vote on March 2nd in the Republican Primary. I consider it a privilege to serve in this capacity and would be humbled to continue to do so.
